Well, another semester is almost over and once again it has gone by incredibly fast...some highlights from the semester include: driving to my roommate's house for the weekend with a bunch of friends, teaching horseback riding at HoneyRock for a weekend, IM dodgeball games, and that's all my brain can think of right now...in general, I've been more spontaneous this semester than I have ever been.  For example, I randomly decided to go into Chicago today at the last minute so I could see the German Christmas market.  I've been missing Germany so much lately and while this wasn't exactly like anything you would see in Germany it did bring back many wonderful memories.

God has been so faithful this semester...especially with friendships.  He always provides the right friends when you need them.  He knows our needs so much better than we know our own.  It reminds me of the verse that says that he works all things together for good for those who love him and are called according his purpose.  He also has continued to deepen my friendships with my close girlfriends which I am so thankful for.

In terms of school work, this semester has been the most challenging.  I'm taking all science courses including chemistry and human anatomy (very interesting!).   I feel like I've learned so much though!  Some semesters I look back on and I wonder to myself what I actually learned, but not this semester!  I finally feel like I'm studying something that I enjoy and understand!  I'm going to have to start applying to Nursing schools soon...hard to believe.  When I first started college I would never have imagined that I would have applied to Nursing...There is a lot of work to be done before that.  Since I changed my major late, I'm going to have to take some classes over the summer (microbiology and organic chemistry!)  It's going to be very difficult, but it will be an adventure to take classes in Hawaii...I'm looking forward to spending the summer with my family again as well.  I'm realizing that as I get older, the time that I spend with my family is going smaller and smaller.  It's sad, but I guess that is part of growing up.

Well, I think that's it for now...here's some photos

Back at Wheaton!

So I made it back to Wheaton safe and sound.  My last three weeks after Honeyrock were spent at home just enjoying family and friends.  My best friend, Laura, came and spent the last two weeks with me and we had an absolute blast.  It was so great to have her around...it felt just like old times.  We got to go snorkling, boogie boarding, sailing, running, swimming, shopping, site seeing, watching movies, and lots of good talks.  It was sad when we both finally had to go back to school, but you can't be on vacation forver.  So now I'm back at school and I'm loving seeing all my friends.  We just finished our first week of classes which went very well.  I changed my major to Applied Health Science and so far I'm lovin it.  I really like the professors in the department and I just find the subject matter very interesting.  Today, my roommates and I are going shopping to by decorations for our apartment...right now it is rather bare...Anyway, here are some photos from Hawaii!!!

Honeyrock!

Hey Everyone...so time for another update...this time I have an excuse for not updating though.  I wasn't able to access my xanga site at Honeyrock .  Anyway, my summer has been awesome!  I can't even begin to describe in words how wonderful it was.  I worked at Honeyrock as a wrangler teaching kids how to ride and basically playing all summer.  Seriously, I got payed to play (well, there was a little bit of work involved).  Where to start?  Well, the first four weeks that I was up at Honeyrock basically just consisted of training and team bonding with the other activity staff.  It was so much fun getting to know everyone, especially my roommates.  The Lord really blessed me with three amazing girls in my room.  We all got along so well and became close friends.  I got to do and see some amazing things.  I learned archery, kayaking, how to build a fire, lots more about horses, etc.  I got to see eagles, bears, tons of deer, etc.  Once the campers arrived, my days were spent working with the kids and putting on crazy shows to get the kids excited about camp.  There is so much detail that I wish I could explain but I would probably have to write a book!  I was really sad to leave; I feel like Honeyrock almost became like a third home to me after Hawaii and Wheaton.  I encourage anyone who is looking for a summer job to consider Honeyrock...it is a place like no other.  I'll try to post pictures soon!!!!
